Studying in Indonesia: what to know about the student visa

Which visa you need, when to start the paperwork, and what changes after you arrive.

Visa paperwork starts after your university acceptance, and is entirely separate from the scholarship process.

Before you travel The university issues a formal acceptance letter, a study permit is then obtained from the Indonesian authorities, and on that basis you apply for the visa at the embassy or consulate nearest you.

After you arrive Within the first thirty days you complete local residency formalities at the immigration office, the university's international office will usually walk you through it.
